Another major milestone achieved!
Over the past week, the IES team has successfully completed the design, manufacture, factory testing, delivery and installation of two identical Motor Control Centre (MCC) panels for an ongoing turnkey project in Kent.
Each MCC panel will control the motors for three individual outloading silos, together with remote I/O responsible for local valves, instrumentation, alignment equipment, indication, safety systems and process interlocks. The entire system is integrated with a user-friendly SCADA control system, also designed and developed by IES, providing operators with complete control and monitoring of the installation.
A big thank you to the on-site mechanical team at Alpha World, who planned and carried out the lifting and positioning of the panels professionally and efficiently. It was great working alongside such a helpful team.
This project demonstrates IES’s capability to deliver complete turnkey electrical, control and automation solutions. To date, our scope has included:
✅ Design, supply and installation of the 11kV HV network, including multiple containerised switchgear solutions, transformer installation, civil works, trenching and HV cabling.
✅ Installation of the LV substation, incorporating a 2500A LV switchboard and transformer connections.
✅ Installation of four 2500A dockside feeder pillars, including all power cabling, containment systems and final connections.
✅ Installation of the site’s fibre optic communications ring, providing resilient network and PLC communications infrastructure, including all containment and cable routing.
✅ Complete electrical control and safety design, including electrical drawings, PLC software development, SCADA development, and the design and manufacture of bespoke control panels.
Over the coming months, the project will move into its final phase, with the installation of the remaining outloading equipment, field cabling, final connections, energisation and full commissioning.
