IES have been working on a unique project on the run-up to Christmas and New Year with a new customer Cryogenic, Cryogenic is the leading supplier of high field superconducting magnets and low temperature measurement systems (down to 10 mK). We were approached by them as one of their customers required the control system to be a PLC rather than the companies traditional PC based system. We worked closely with Cryogenic to ensure that all areas their PC system provides were covered on the PLC system including Power supply control along with Voltage, Current and Temperature logging of the magnets. The system was also designed to fit inside a standard data cab and be portable. After completing onsite FAT testing at Cryogenics’ labs, IES will be travelling to Germany to help commission the system with Cryogenics’ for their customer.
