🚧 PROJECT UPDATE | HERCULES FEEDER PILLARS – LV SUPPLY ⚡
Great progress on one of our larger ongoing projects at Hercules, Peel Ports, Sheerness.
Since our last update, we’ve hit several key milestones on the Hercules ship unloader LV supply:
✅ Establishment of a CDM, giving us a safe working environment fully under our control
✅ Completion of stainless-steel ladder containment along the dock edge
✅ Installation of long runs of 900mm and 300mm stainless ladder containment
Stainless steel was chosen due to the harsh coastal environment this installation will endure. As anyone who’s worked with it knows, it brings its own challenges — but the install team handled these brilliantly. The result isn’t just something that looks good; it’s an installation built to last.
Following the containment works, we moved on to pulling the 500mm² SWA single-core supply cables. Not an easy task by any means — but with solid planning, high morale, and a lot of sweat (and a bit of swearing!), we got there.
All cables have been secured using Ellis cleats, fully compliant with regulations for an installation of this size.
🔜 Next step:
Feeder pillars delivered to site, cable making‑off, and commissioning.
Plenty more to come — I’ll keep you posted.
👏 Huge credit to the team for their hard work and professionalism on this one.
